If you’re looking to take your drone photography and videography to the next level, DJI’s Mini 3 might be the drone for you.

Are you tired of lugging around a heavy drone? Are you sick of trying to operate your drone while it’s tethered to your phone? Do you want more control over the quality of your video?

If so, then the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone is for you. Weighing less than 249g, the DJI Mini 3 Pro is a lightweight drone that allows you to fly it with ease and get professional-looking footage without having to carry around extra equipment.

With true vertical shooting capabilities and an extended battery life, this drone is perfect for anyone who wants more control over their videos while still maintaining portability. Plus, with 4K HDR video capabilities and a tri-directional obstacles sensor, there’s no limit to what kinds of shots are possible.

Let’s check out its specs in detail.

A Detailed Review of DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone

Designed to capture the world with utmost clarity, this drone has an operating temperature of -10° to 40° C (14° to 104° F), which makes it ideal for use in most weather conditions. The aircraft has a max tilt angle of 40° forward and 35° backward, allowing you to take shots at different angles. With an angular velocity of 130°/s (S Mode) that can be adjusted between 20°/s and 250°/s in the app, this drone will keep up with whatever speed you need it to go.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone has Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)  GPS + Galileo + BeiDou capabilities, so you can use it both indoors and outdoors without any issues. The drone also has exceptional hovering accuracy, which helps it stay at a certain altitude without needing ground control points or other external inputs.

Sensing System

With an all-new aircraft design, this drone is equipped with tri-directional obstacle sensors including forward, backward, and downward dual-vision sensors, so you’ll be able to focus on getting better footage instead of worrying about your equipment. Featuring an Advanced Pilot Assistance System, this drone provides you with an unprecedented level of protection from obstacles and lets you capture stunning aerial shots without having to worry about anything getting in your way.

With a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, it’s easy to get the smoothest shots possible. You can tilt it up or down by 90 degrees, and it can rotate 360 degrees with its panning feature. This will help you get the perfect angle every time!

This drone has an angular vibration range of ±0.01° and a controllable range of tilt: -90° to 60° and roll: -90° or 0°, allowing you to get the most precise shots possible, whether you’re filming from a distance or trying to get a close-up of your subject.

Camera Quality

When it comes to camera quality, hard to beat this little guy. The 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor combined with the 48 MP lens gives you an incredible field of view of 82.1° while still maintaining sharpness, color accuracy, and depth of field. You can even shoot at f/1.7 for those times when you want to get in close! With this drone, you can also use the slow motion function to record 1920×1080 videos at 120 frames per second or take advantage of its HDR mode to get the most out of every scene.

This drone also boasts an electronic shutter that goes up to 2-1/8000 seconds for capturing those perfect long exposures in low light conditions. Even better, it features different QuickShot modes including Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, Boomerang, and Asteroid so you can adjust it to add a creative flair to your shots. Its D-Cinelike color profile gives your photos a look that’s reminiscent of professional film cameras, so you’ll get quality images every time.

WiFi and Bluetooth

Another thing that makes DJI Mini 3 Pro stand out from other drones in its class is its ability to connect with devices via its built-in WiFi module which supports 802.11b/g/n standards with speeds up to 25 Mbps. This means that you can connect your smartphone, tablet, or laptop with this WiFi module and share your photos/videos directly from your device onto social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Additionally, this drone has Bluetooth Protocol of 5.2, making it easy for you to connect it with other devices such as laptops or cellphones.

Intelligent Flight Battery

Unlike other drones that die out in the middle of the shot, this drone comes with an Intelligent Flight battery with a runtime of 34 minutes, allowing you to capture shots without running out of juice. And, if you’re looking to get even more out of your drone, you can upgrade it with an Intelligent Flight Battery Plus for exploration for 47 minutes.

DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller

This drone also comes with DJI RC-N1 remote controller which is perfect for those who want to take their drone flying experience up a notch. With its ergonomic design, easy-to-read screen, and intuitive controls, the RC-N1 makes it easy to get the most out of your drone.

Performance Review

The DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone is a great drone for those who are looking for a drone that can be used to capture aerial footage, but also has a range of other features that make it ideal for use in different circumstances.

Weighing less than 249g, the drone itself is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it easy to use without having to worry about the weight of your drone affecting its ability to fly. The camera also offers excellent quality images and videos when filming from above ground level. When turned on, the camera often starts in CE mode, which is the closest to a fully automatic setting in terms of image control. Similarly, this drone has a smaller sensor than some other drones in its class, but the quality of the video footage was very good in our tests.

There are different modes that might be difficult for beginners to adjust but once you get the hang of it you can experiment with taking different pictures and videos. It also comes with a 3-axis gimbal that stabilizes the footage so you don’t have to worry about blurry images or videos when flying around. The gimbal also lets you capture amazing shots at different angles to create unique content for your social media channels.

One thing that we didn’t like about this drone is the battery life. With a runtime of just 34 minutes, you can’t capture detailed videos — and sometimes the battery only lasts for 20 minutes. You can use this drone for secondary battery usage, but doing so will increase its overall weight, and consequently affect its stability. This can be problematic when you’re filming something that needs precision or when you’re trying to take pictures of something moving quickly. The drone will sometimes lose control of itself and start spinning or moving erratically.

Sometimes, this drone can’t go above 500 meters but it all depends on the weather, wind speed, and other environmental factors. Despite the range, it has an altitude hold function that keeps the drone hovering at its current height, making it easy to take smooth shots without worrying about moving the controller.

The drone also comes with a remote controller that has an integrated screen that shows you what the camera is seeing, so you can get perfect framing even when you’re far away from your subject. But the relationship between joystick pressure/sensitivity might be in constant flux. At times, we found ourselves fighting with the controls as they seemed to be responding at random times. We also noticed that when changing directions quickly, the drone would react slower than expected.

Overall, it’s a great drone with exceptional safety features, camera quality, smooth video transmission, and seamless wi-fi capabilities. The GPS capability makes it easy to navigate which is great if you are planning on capturing footage of wildlife or other creatures that might be hard to track down otherwise (such as birds). Clocking in at just $759, this drone is an excellent bargain.

If you are looking for a drone that is easy to fly and can shoot amazing footage, this is the drone for you. Not only does this allow you to shoot 4k videos with crystal clarity but also still has some advanced features like GPS-assisted flight mode and obstacle avoidance. It also has a three-axis gimbal that keeps the camera steady during flight. With this drone, you can capture breathtaking footage when inspiration strikes.
